ABOUT THE ARTIST
Originally from Maryland, Sherry moved to Boston in 1983. In her first year, she learned how to weave at a yarn shop in Arlington, MA. She creates handwoven rayon chenille scarves, breadbasket cloths and table runners. In addition, Sherry makes beaded, memory wire bracelets and earrings. She loves paper and uses decoupage techniques on tin buckets, frames, trays, and other functional items. She is always on the hunt for beautiful paper. Her newest venture is paper weaving. She is a member of the Weavers Guild of Boston. She is one of the owner/artists of Five Crows Gallery & Handcrafted Gifts.
While creating artwork through the years, Sherry had a career in public relations and marketing in arts, healthcare, and non-profit organizations. She recently moved to Wayland after living in Holliston for 30 years while raising her sons. She was an active volunteer for the Holliston schools. In 2005, she won Holliston’s Citizen of the Year Award. In addition, she received the Holliston Music Parents’ Advocacy Award in 2006. She is a huge Red Sox and Boston sports fan!
