ABOUT THE ARTIST

For Wendy the act of painting is a bodily response where energy passes from the heart to the brush, absent of self-conscious thought, leading to possibilities and clarity. Her recent trips to Italy using the Italian earth palette have continued to inspire. She aims to capture the essence of the subject staying connected to the physicality of the paint.
A native of Connecticut, Wendy studied Art at UMASS Amherst receiving a BFA degree in 1978. She continued study at the Byam Shaw School in London and Boston Museum School. She was an art educator for over 20 years, recently retiring from Needham High School in 2018.
