ABOUT THE ARTIST

The beauty of creating mosaic art lies in the process of figuring out how to fit various fragments together. Using stained-glass, tile, beads, stones, and other materials, combined with individually made fused glass tiles, Carol creates unique, colorful mosaics. She enjoys the absorbing challenge of shaping each small tile to fit into a complex artwork made of thousands of small shards.

Since 2000, after making several stained-glass public art pieces for Natick’s Morse Institute Library, The Center for Arts in Natick, the Peace Hall in Nova Scotia, and other locations, Carol’s focus has turned to outdoor public mosaics, such as those on Court Street in Natick Center, and indoor mosaic commissions.

Carol’s mosaics are often fabricated with the help of many volunteers and supported by generous community donations. Commission clients, students, friends and family, infuse her creative work and help Carol continue to grow as an artist.
