ABOUT THE ARTIST

Derrick receives his inspiration from nature, people and current events. He has received numerous commissions for his art, particularly his whimsical nature paintings and continues to experience both creative and commercial success. The vivid color and shapes he utilizes speaks to the inner, child-like soul in us all. Derrick specialize in illustrations, original paintings and drawings and his medium choices include pencil, watercolor, acrylic and pastels.

Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio Derrick relocated to Boston. His art has become popular and in demand in Boston and in MetroWest suburbs of the city. He is an active member of the Natick Art Association and often participates in programs throughout the year where is art is showcased. In 2017, Derrick was honored by the Boston Celtics where his painting of Avery Bradley (then a point guard for the Celtics) was received by the team owners and displayed in the TD Garden Putnam Club.
